Eni Cyprus ha annunciato scoperta di gas naturale a CIPRO - a circa 160 km al largo delle sue coste, nel pozzo Cronos-1 situato nel Blocco 6. - Il pozzo, perforato ad una profondità di 2.287 metri sotto il livello del mare, ha incontrato importante colonna di gas in una sequenza di roccia serbatoio carbonatica con ottima porosità e permeabilità.

🔹Volumi di giacimento di gas il giacimento di gas si trova a circa 2287 metri di profondità e stando alle stime conterrebbe 2,5 trilioni di piedi cubi di gas.

PARTNERSHIP 50-50 con la major francese TotalEnergies
Il Blocco 6 operato da ENI 🔹 insieme alla società petrolifera francese TotalEnergies, entrambe con quota del 50%.

🔹 Ruolo importante in questo campo estrattivo lo sta svolgendo anche la società armatoriale genovese - olandese 🔹 Vroon Offshore services (18 offshore supply vessels) guidata da Andrea Cavo: - le attività di esplorazione di Eni & Total svolte al largo di Cipro nel blocco 6 sono supportante da 3 platform supply vessel (Psv) di proprietà del gruppo olandese Vroon e interamente gestite dalla società genovese Vroon Offshore Services.
🔹3 platform supply vessel (Psv) : Vos Prime - Vos Prudence - Vos Purpose, dopo esperienza del 2018 in cui contribuirono alla scoperta del pozzo Calypso, sono stati nuovamente noleggiati da ENI & Total per svolgere attività di assistenza ad impianto di perforazione oggi operativo sul pozzo Cronos sulla base di contratti time-charter di medio periodo.

Energy Oil and Gas in the world - Good news for Europe

🔹 According to estimates, there are 2.5 trillion cubic feet (tcf) of newly discovered natural gas deposits off Cyprus.
A huge natural gas deposit discovered during drills in Block 6 about 160 km off the Cyprus coastline, the ENI-Total consortium announced on 22 Aug Monday .

🔹 The Block is operated by Eni Cyprus holding 50% interest with TotalEnergies as partner

According to official announcement by the Italian company, natural gas was detected in the Cronos-1 field of Block 6, the amount of which according to preliminary estimates is 2.5 trillion cubic feet.

🔹The Cronos-1 deposit is at a depth of 2,287 meters. According to the announcement, there is also a significant additional upside that will be investigated by further exploration in the area.

🔹Cronos-1 well is the fourth exploration well drilled by Eni Cyprus and the second well in Block 6 following the gas discovery of Calypso-1 in 2018. 🔹

The gas discovery of Cronos-1 can unlock additional potential in the area and is part of Eni’s effort to provide further gas supply to Europe, the company says.

)))))🔹ENI has been present in Cyprus since 2013 - The company operates Blocks 2, 3, 6, 8, and 9, and has participating interests in Blocks 7 and 11, operated by TotalEnergies.

In a separate statement on Aug 22, ))))) TotalEnergies said that the drilling of another exploration well on Block 6 has been planned. - This successful exploration well at Cronos-1 is illustration of the impact of our exploration strategy which is focused on discovering resources with low technical cost and low carbon emissions, said Kevin McLachlan, senior vice president of exploration at TotalEnergies.
