🔹 Enorme area di 1.470 ettari nella Regione di Schonefeld, a sud-est di Berlino, vuole essere lo snodo di Trasporti tecnologici efficienti di passeggeri e merci di cui la capitale tedesca ha sempre sentito la mancanza, e apre maggiori collegamenti verso destinazioni a lungo raggio.

Ma, il progetto iniziale colpito negli anni di tante battute d'arresto, lamentele e inefficienze che molti hanno chiamato il progetto sfortunato.

🔹Swissport is active at over 300 airports in 50 countries - moves Berlin cargo services to new Brandenburg airport

Swissport International has relocated its ground services and cargo business from Berlin Tegel and Berlin Schonefeld to the German capital’s new Berlin Brandenburg Airport, and will start operations tomorrow.
With the move, the company is also expanding its total cargo warehouse space in Berlin by some 60% to now 2,100sq metres.

Most of the shops, restaurants and service facilities in BER Terminal 1 will open on 31 October or 1 November 2020.

🔹The opening hours indicated refer to the time from the commissioning of T1.

🔹The facilities in BER Terminal 5 are the same as those of Schonefeld Airport and can therefore already be reached today.

🔹Happy Halloween to Berlin's beleaguered Brandenburg Airport, which finally opens its doors this Saturday.

The massive 1,470-hectare site in the Schonefeld region southeast of Berlin aims to be the state-of-the-art transportation hub that the German capital has always lacked, and will open up connections to more long-haul destinations.

Airports trade body Europe ACI warned Tuesday that nearly 200 airports across Europe risk going bust within months due to the fallout of the coronavirus pandemic, with passenger traffic down 73% year on year.

Berlin-Brandenburg Willy Brandt Airport (BER) is reported to have already been granted 300 million euros in state aid, without transporting a single passenger - and while there's no airport in the world not feeling the heat right now, Berlin's new airport is no stranger to crisis.
