- Tra i giardini più splendidi - ubicato di fronte alla costa taorminese. 🔹 La cosiddetta CASA ROSSA dispone di un compendio monumentale acquisito al demanio di Regione Sicilia nel 1991, negli anni scorsi oggetto di interventi di restauro conservativo ed adeguamento tecnologico e funzionale.
Adesso aperta ed inserita tra gli itinerari turistico-culturali del comprensorio taorminese.
Interessante la riqualificazione di area della cavea ubicata nella zona meridionale in cui allestita struttura per spettacoli open air.
Il ricco giardino, posto in posizione dominante sul promontorio di Capo Taormina, con lo sfondo di isolotto simbolo di Taormina e baia di Giardini, vanta scenario paesaggistico di straordinaria suggestione. 🔹il parco Villa Caronia, per la presenza di numerose specie botaniche di origine Mediterranea sub tropicale, segnalato anche dalla rivista "Giardino Botanico" di Istituto geografico De Agostini.

🔹TAORMINA - The park of Villa Caronia
Villa Caronia (named after its last owner. Prof. G. Caronia) for its location and the particular position, is an example of a rare environment and incomparable beauty as landscape value, naturalistic, historical and cultural heritage so as to be subject to protection under Legge.Regionale 1089 and later in 1991, acquired to the assets of the Sicilian Region.
The trend of the soil, 1.60 hectares, joins harmonically with the underlying Capo Taormina, Isolabella, Capo Sant'Andrea and the bay of Naxos. It has a rough orography in the South-South East slopes of the promontory, characterized by the presence of dense “macchia mediterranea” vegetation. The North-North-East side has a less steep morphology with a broad plateau along the border between the S.S. 114 with the town of Taormina.
Due to its position the Park has been arranged, where possible, with terracing supported by stone “armaciere” of different shape and surface connected by paths and stairways.
🔹For the great variety and the quality of plant species it has been reported in 1970 as "BOTANICAL GARDEN" by the Istituto Geografico De Agostini in the cartography, produced on the occasion of the intern exhibition of flower and plant.
🔹 On May 2012 the gardens of this old Sicilian Villa will be open to public, 1.60 hectares of garden with a stunning panorama of the Naxos Bay.
