BERLIN - Severe disruption to air traffic - Berlin Airport

- A union - Members of Germany's mighty Ver.di Union take part in a warning strike by ground services, security checks and check-in staff at Berlin Tegel airport

representing ground staff has called on its members to go on strike at Berlin's two airports and warned the walkouts might lead to delays and perhaps flight cancellations.

The ver.di union says the strikes would begin

Friday at 4 a.m. (0300 GMT) and end Saturday at 5 a.m. (0400 GMT)

at the German capital's Tegel and Schoenefeld airports.

The union, which represents some 2,000 members at the airports, said Thursday they were demanding higher wages and better working conditions.

Airport employees already went on strike last month to push for their demands.

Berlin Airport News

Due to strike action of ground staff at Berlin’s airports Schönefeld and Tegel there is severe disruption of air traffic from 10 March approx. 4 a.m. until 11 March approx. 5 a.m.

After the end of the strike action restrictions in air traffic may continue.

We kindly request all passengers to enquire about the current status of their flights before travelling to the airport.
