CLIA Members Suspend Cruises From U.S. Ports for 30 Days

☀️🔹Washington, DC (13 March 2020)—CLIA ocean-going cruise lines will be voluntarily and temporarily suspending cruise ship operations from U.S. ports of call for 30 days as public health officials and the U.S. Government continue to address COVID-19.
🔹 On Friday, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that he has asked four major cruise operators to voluntarily suspend cruise ship operations from U.S. seaports for a period of 30 days.
- At my request, effective midnight tonight, Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Norwegian and MSC have all agreed to suspend outbound cruises for thirty days," Trump said. "It is a great and important industry - it will be kept that way.

🔹 The Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) confirmed the voluntary suspension in a statement Friday afternoon.
We do not take this decision lightly, and we want the traveling public to know in no uncertain terms the commitment of this industry to putting people first, said Adam Goldstein, CLIA Global Chairman.

☀️🔹 Le principali Compagnie Crocieristiche mondiali hanno annunciato sospensione delle attività per periodi temporanei causa: diffusione a livello globale di viruscorona.

🔹 Soprattutto i 2 gruppi Usa leader incontrastati del settore: Carnival Corporation, che ha una flotta di 105 navi e Royal Caribbean Cruises (RCL), che opera 61 navi .

🔹 Royal Caribbean Cruises (RCL) 2° gruppo Usa ha annunciato il fermo di tutte le crociere effettuate dai suoi marchi Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises, Silversea e TUI Cruises con effetto dalla mezzanotte di sabato scorso, con la previsione di riprendere le operazioni sabato 11 aprile 2020.

🔹Le crociere in corso termineranno come da programma e Royal Caribbean Cruises assisterà i passeggeri per il loro rientro a casa.

Anche i marchi crocieristici di Carnival Corporation hanno annunciato sospensioni delle attività, ma la risposta all'emergenza è diversa in base ai mercati dove operano.

🔹☀️ Costa Crociere e Princess Cruises hanno comunicato la sospensione temporanea delle crociere, la prima con effetto fino al 3 aprile e la 2a fino al 10 maggio ,

🔹☀️ I brand Carnival Cruise Line - Cunard, Holland America Line e Seabourn hanno reso noto che fermano le attività in Usa per 1 mese. 🔹 Carnival Cruise Line torna in servizio il 10 aprile

☀️🔹 MSC Cruises, ha fermato temporaneamente le attività basate in Usa fno al 30 aprile, ha annullato le crociere previste a breve negli Emirati Arabi, mentre ha stoppato le crociere di MSC Opera nel Mediterraneo fino al 21 aprile, inoltre ha modificato gli itinerari di MSC Grandiosa.
