Founded in 1992, Fosun Group is a classic story of success after China's reform and opening-up.

On 16 July 2007, Fosun International (00656.HK), the parent company of Fosun Group, was listed on the Main Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

Top manager della società cinese proprietaria del Club Med risultava scomparso nel nulla da alcuni giorni, tanto che i titoli legati al gruppo sono stati sospesi dalle contrattazioni in Borsa dopo il crollo del valore delle azioni.

Secondo indiscrezioni riportate dalla stampa cinese, testimoni avrebbero visto Guangchan mentre veniva prelevato dalla polizia in aeroporto dopo un volo da Hong Kong, notizia che la stessa Fosun ha smentito, ma oggi 11 dicembre 2015 diffusa dalla BBC.

Il nome di Fosun, oltre che al Club Med, legato alla recente acquisizioni a Milano della ex sede di Unicredito, in piazza Cordusio, e al Cirque du Soleil.

Guangchan risulta tra le 20 persone più ricche della Cina.

One of China's richest men, Guo Guangchang, has been detained by police.

His company, Fosun International, confirmed on Friday that he was assisting authorities with an investigation.

The confirmation followed reports that he had gone missing.

Financial magazine Caixin said that staff at Fosun had been unable to contact Mr Guo since Thursday afternoon.

Fosun, one of China's biggest private conglomerates, halted trading of its Hong Kong shares following the reports.

The company said that its shares would resume trading on Monday.

Fosun said that Mr Guo, 48, who has been described as China's Warren Buffett, was still able to be involved in major decisions.

It was not clear why police had detained him.
