• La Ministra degli Esteri spagnola Trinidad Jimenez, in visita a Bengasi ha riconosciuto NTC Consiglio nazionale di transizione (NTC) unico legittimo rappresentante della Libia. Ed ha incontrato il vice capo dell'Amministrazione di transizione del Cnt, Ali Al Isawi, dopo l'incontro avuto con il Leader del Cnt Mustafa Abdel Jalil.

• Inoltre, ha annunciato che la Spagna sta fornendo aiuti umanitari (cibo & medicine), e 5 milioni di dollari di aiuti finanziari alla NTC.

• Domani, giovedi 9 Jun 2011 ad Abu Dhabi nel corso della riunione dei Paesi (gruppo di contatto con la Libia) Francia, Gran Bretagna, Italia, Qatar, Kuwait, Giordania, Usa - la Spagna nella persona del Ministro degli Esteri Trinidad Jimenez s’impegna a far avviare lo scongelamento dei valori patrimoniali bloccati del Governo Libico per assegnarli al nuovo soggetto NTC.

BENGHAZI, Libya, June 8 2011 - Visiting Spanish Foreign Minister Trinidad Jimenez said Wednesday that the Libyan opposition National Transitional Council (NTC) is the only legitimate representative of Libya.

///////////////// Jimenez's remark, given at a press conference in the Libyan rebel base of Benghazi, is the first time for the Spanish Government to recognize the NTC as the only legitimate representative of Libya.

• There has been no contact between the Spanish Government and the Libyan government since leader Muammar Gaddafi's troops were ordered to kill the people, Jimenez told reporters at the NTC headquarters.

• Spain has provided humanitarian aid, including food and medicine, and five million U.S. dollars of financial aid to the NTC, she said, adding that she has discussed with the NTC leaders about how to meet the needs of the Libyan people in the future.

• During the Libya contact group meeting expected to be held in Abu Dhabi on Thursday, Spain will work on unfreezing the frozen assets of the Libyan government to support the NTC, she said.

• The contact group includes the United States, France, Britain, Italy, Qatar, Kuwait and Jordan.
