Etna Geosciences for the environment, natural hazard and cultural heritage Catania 12-14 Sept

The Italian Geological Society (SGI) and the Italian Society of Mineralogy and Petrology (SIMP) are pleased to invite you to participate in the joint Congress, entitled "Geosciences for the environment, natural hazard and cultural heritage", which will be held in Catania from 12 to 14 September 2018.

➤ For the Italian Geological Society, this is the 89th congress since its foundation.

☀️ The Congress in three days of scientific sessions on the main themes of Geosciences; it will include plenary conferences of eminent intern geoscientists, round tables conferences and forums on topics of relevant geological-social impact and on major themes of public interest.

➤ The Congress is the privileged place for the meeting of the different actors operating in the world of Geosciences.

➤ The Congress represents an important moment of confrontation for geoscientists in which illustrate their research and discuss the results ➤ for professionals it represents a valid opportunity for professional refresher and for the deepening of competences of the field in which they operate; ➤ for school teachers it is an opportunity to discuss the contents and didactic methods of Geosciences as well as providing the possibility of establishing relationships of laboratory cooperation with the world of research.
➤ Finally, it offers everyone the opportunity to increase collaboration with the many public and private entities in which geological expertise find space and to discuss new strategies for development and technology transfer.
➤ The Congress will also be an opportunity to reflect on the current and future role of Geosciences in society, the function that they must assume in the formation of the citizen and in the protection of the cultural and natural heritage that distinguishes Italy.
➤ Particular attention will be paid to young researchers, PhD candidates and students through the organisation of events and meetings aimed at creating collaborative networks to facilitate intercultural and information exchange for the development of their research and the planning of future studies.

La Società Geologica Italiana (SGI) e la Società Italiana di Mineralogia e Petrologia (SIMP) vi invitano a partecipare al Congresso internazionale congiunto, dal titolo "Geosciences for the environment, natural hazard and cultural heritage", che si svolge a CATANIA da mercoledi 12 a venerdi 14 settembre 2018.

➤ Per la Società Geologica Italiana si tratta del suo 89° congresso a partire dalla fondazione.
➤ il Congresso si svolge in 3 giorni di sessioni scientifiche sulle principali tematiche delle Geoscienze;
➤ include conferenze plenarie di studiosi di rilievo internazionale, tavole rotonde e forum su argomenti di rilevante impatto geologico - sociale e su grandi temi di interesse pubblico.
➤ Congresso costituisce il luogo privilegiato per incontrare diversi attori operanti nel mondo delle Geoscienze.

➤ Per gli studiosi rappresenta importante momento di confronto in cui esporre le proprie ricerche e discutere i risultati; ➤per i professionisti costituisce valida opportunità per aggiornamento professionale e per approfondire competenze proprie in ambito in cui operano; ➤per gli insegnanti di scuola occasione per confrontarsi sui contenuti e sui metodi didattici delle Geoscienze oltre a fornire la possibilità di instaurare rapporti di collaborazione laboratoriale con il mondo della ricerca.

Infine offre a tutti opportunità di incrementare le collaborazioni con le molteplici realtà pubbliche e private in cui trovano spazio le competenze geologiche e di discutere le nuove strategie di sviluppo e di trasferimento tecnologico.

➤ Particolare attenzione rivolta ai giovani ricercatori, ai dottorandi e agli studenti mediante organizzazione di eventi ed incontri mirati alla creazione di reti di collaborazione per facilitare lo scambio interculturale e di informazioni per lo svolgimento delle proprie ricerche e la programmazione di studi futuri.
