🔹HISTORY🔹 Il gruppo costituito da Ward Swingle agli inizi degli Anni '60 a Parigi, fu poi ricostituito in occasione del trasferimento di questi a Londra, sulla base del doppio quartetto con 8 vocalist educati secondo i canoni della tradizione corale inglese; su questa base Swingle ha proseguito la sua ricerca stilistica, definendo l'ormai inconfondibile SOUND che lo caratterizza, e riscuotendo subito l'approvazione del pubblico e della critica.

🔹Tecnica vocale impeccabile, notevole armonia e fusione dei timbri permettono ai Swingle Singers di avere un repertorio che spazia da Bach al Jazz, dai madrigalisti francesi a Duke Ellington, da Mozart a Gershwin.

🔹 Nel campo della musica contemporanea hanno registrato SINFONIA di Luciano Berio con la direzione di Pierre Boulez, eseguita successivamente a New York con la New York Philharmonic e nelle principali istituzioni sinfoniche di tutto il mondo.

🔹🔹 1986 eseguono in 1a assoluta l'opera Mazepegul; nel 1990 al Teatro alla Scala, l'opera BLIMUNDA entrambe di Azio Corghi.
Sempre al Teatro alla Scala MILANO partecipano alla rappresentazione dell'opera OUTIS di Luciano Berio, poi ripresentata anche a Parigi, e nel 2000 all'opera TATIANA di Azio Corghi.

🔹Le piu recenti presenze del gruppo in Italia al Teatro Regio di Torino, al Ravenna Festival, al Piccolo di Milano, al Teatro Bellini di Catania, Accademia di S.Cecilia di Roma, alla Biennale di Venezia, al Lingotto di Torino.
