Musicista dal talento innato, Billy Cobham è anche un raffinato ed originale compositore che ha saputo spaziare da un genere all'altro senza senza porre alcun limite alla sua musica, ciò è dimostrato da una vasta discografia e dalle numerose collaborazioni con artisti provenienti da tutto il mondo.
