OCIO - La linea istituita dalla Compagnia di Navigazione GLD Atlantique (LD Armateurs, LD Lines), joint venture tra il gruppo francese Philippe Louis Dreyfus Armateurs ed il gruppo armatoriale napoletano Grimaldi (apprendiamo, oggi, che Grimaldi ha lasciato ed è stato sostituito con altro socio che sarà ufficializzato il prossimo 28 Settembre)


• Sulla nuova rotta impiegata la nave ro-pax Norman Bridge, che ha una velocità di 20 nodi e può trasportare 399 passeggeri, 130 autovetture e 65 camion in un garage della capacità di 2.000 metri lineari.

• Il servizio prevede 3 viaggi alla settimana in entrambe le direzioni e un Transit Time di 14 ore.

• GLD LINES THE SEA MOTORWAYS CONCEPT •

From 2005 to 2009, Louis Dreyfus Armateurs and the Italian Grimaldi Group have jointly operated a maritime service for Ro-Ro cargo and passengers between the ports of Toulon and Civitavecchia (Rome).

This line, commercialized under the name of GLD Lines, operated three weekly departures from each port with the Sorrento. This very recent vessel (delivered in June 2003) had a capacity of 150 trailers and 400 passenger cabins, and a commercial speed of 22 knots allowing a 12 hours voyage in the best safety and comfort conditions.

• This new venture between two European shipowners therefore offered road hauliers an opportunity to actively participate in an environmentally sensible Logistic that has been promoted for the last few years by the European Commission through the • SEA Motorways concept.

• The French-Italian adventure goes on in 2010 with a new motorway of the sea service between France and Spain due to be launched in September 2010 and operated by GLD Atlantique.

• This new route between the French port of Nantes Saint-Nazaire and the port of Gijon will be plied by a Ro-pax ship with a capacity of 150 trailers and 800 passengers.
