Ortiguera is warming up the engines to live its XXVI International Festival of Celtic World from July 8 to 11, a Festival that has earned the title of Festivity of International Touristic Interest.
It will be 4 days of music with roots, a 96-hour party and outdoors camping in the pine-tree forest by the beach of Morouzos.
And, as usual, everything will be free for the over 100.000 people who are expected to swarm anew this small coastland town in A Coruña, with a little over 7.000 inhabitants, in the most ambitious and innovative festival of the past few years.
Otrigueira's festival reformulates the musical offer of the Escenario Estrella Galicia –three nights of concerts and a last evening for new artists--, definitely returning to the Celtic orthodoxy, and will have the presence of numerous Galician, international and Spanish bands which will make their debut in this festival, setting out with a powerful “Noche de folk rock”.
Oysterband, Celtas Cortos, Gaelic Storm, Cristina Pato, Shooglenifty and - Anxo Lorenzo - Band will be the headliners for a festival where there will also be a reserved spot for new folk creators with Proyecto Runas, and also for piper bands and the most diverse parallel activities.
Ortigueira will become again, for a few days, the eighth town in Galicia and the capital of the Celtic world.
