Inoltre, si piazza al 9° posto fra i dischi di debutto maggiormente venduti del decennio.
Certo, forse la fama degli Oasis - ha contribuito a LIAM di partire avvantaggiato, ma non osiamo immaginare le potenzialità di questo disco.

➤ 8 anni dopo il litigio con il fratello Noel che fece saltare in aria la band degli Oasis, - ecco il 6 ottobre 2017 - Liam ritornato con As You Were, 1° disco solista nonché nuovo capitolo dopo affossamento dei Beady Eye, la sua 2a band dopo gli Oasis.
Questa volta però Gallagher - per la 1a volta senza un gruppo alle spalle, dopo 25 anni - ha fatto tutto da solo, affidandosi a 2 produttori, Dan Grech-Marguerat e Greg Kurstin (produttore di Adele), e scrivendo 12 canzoni nel suo stile.
➤ In realtà il gruppo c’è, perché suono con dei musicisti sul palco, quindi non cambia nulla. C'è solo il mio nome sulla copertina del disco, invece che quello di una band, ma la mia voce è quella, il genere è quello. Non ho voluto inventare o sperimentare nulla, il suono è quello dei miei dischi preferiti: Beatles - Kinks - Stones - Who.
➤ Classe 1972, 4 figli da 4 donne diverse (Molly, Lennon, Gene e la piccola Gemma, la parabola di William John Paul Gallagher praticamente un romanzo: nato a Burnage, periferia di Manchester, ultimogenito di una famiglia distrutta da un padre alcolizzato, prima di diventare rockstar.

➤ 2011 Liam Gallagher & Beady Eye, sembrano gli Oasis: stessa musica aperta, positiva e ottimista, ariose schitarrate senza cupezze, nel più puro stile brit pop, il genere con cui band come appunto Oasis, Travis, Coldplay, Verve, Blur hanno segnato epoca da metà Anni ‘90.
• Ma se i Beady Eye sembrano gli Oasis è perché sono gli Oasis, senza Noel Gallagher, che ha abbandonato il gruppo in un tempestoso pre-concerto a Parigi, in agosto 2009.
• i 4 BEADY EYE (il fratello di NOEL - coltello Liam Gallagher cantante, Gem Archer alla chitarra, Andy Bell al basso e Chris Sharrock alla batteria) non ci hanno pensato troppo: hanno cambiato nome e continuato a fare Grande Musica.
