• Non esiste storia che, come quella di Romeo e Giulietta, non sia stata tanto narrata e diffusa da valicare i confini geografici, culturali o di classe.

Nell’antica Grecia il mito, come un vento, come un fiume, attraversava territori e culture, mutando sì da racconto a racconto, ma sempre portando con sé il suo senso profondo.

Così oggi, il mito di Romeo e Giulietta attraversa tutte le possibili categorie sociali dell’uomo occidentale, ed è probabilmente la storia più diffusa della nostra cultura.
Al di là dei suoi personaggi e della sua ambientazione, sono i SENTIMENTI che lo pervadono e che ne determinano la struttura portante, insinuandosi sino a colpire a fondo le nostre sensibilità. PASSIONE, scontro, destino, amore, morte.

Romeo and Juliette is passionate LOVE.
Here, the roles of the two Shakespeare lovers will not be performed by two dancers, but several. In a "post-atomic" climate and a society devoid of ideals, the characters in this macabre dance will eventually compose, in the end, a dance of paradise.
After receiving training from Monique Le Dily, René Bon, Daniel Franck, Gilbert Mayer and Raymond Franchetti, it is at the Opéra de Paris, the Ballet du Rhin and the Ballet Théâtre Français in Nancy that Thierry Malandain led his career as a performer, before dedicating himself to choreography.

It will be the first time the world-renowned ballet company has danced in a UK arena and, in order to fully celebrate the occasion, there will be up to 2000 specially-priced £10 tickets at every performance.
