Choral Prelude “Wir glauben all an einen Gott” BWV 680
The symphony orchestra of the Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk is one of the leading German sounding bodies and is a guest at the Thuringia Bach Festival for the first time.
Concert at the place of Bach’s baptism, the orchestra has invited Paul Goodwin, one of the leading representatives of the historical performance practice and also head of the renowned Bach Festival in Carmel, California.
Their collaborative programme includes a suite of sinfonias from Bach’s cantata ­ work as well as a colourful selection of works from other composers who have worked with or commented on Bach’s work.
Soloist is Ray Chen, one of the rising stars of the intern violinist scene.
