Turkey's new Culture and Tourism Minister Omer Celik was serving as the Justice and Development (AK)

Party's Deputy Chairman in charge of Foreign Relations.

An AK Party deputy from the southern province of Adana, Omer Celik was born in Adana on June 15, 1968.

Celik is a graduate of the Public Administration Department at the Gazi University.

Celik was appointed as the AK Party's Deputy Chairman in charge of Foreign Relations in March 2010.

Omer Celik was a political adviser to Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and speaks fluent English.
