Ryanair Group has followed through on its threat to close Lauda’s Vienna base after failing to reach an agreement on cost reductions.

The airline’s Airbus A320 base in Austria will close on 29 May, resulting in the loss of 300 jobs.

LAUDA AIR 2020 MAY - The airline had been serving over 80 destinations from Vienna, and a total of 60 from bases at Stuttgart, Dusseldorf and Palma de Mallorca.

Ryanair Group fa sapere che chiude la base Lauda Air a Vienna a fine del mese se il Governo di AUSTRIA non riduce i costi.

Ceo Michael O' Leary - dichiara che la divisione Ryanair Lauda ha durante anno fiscale fino al 31 marzo 2020 ha avuto dei riscontri negativi a causa della concorrenza del gruppo Lufthansa, di cui Austrian Airlines fa parte.

Il gruppo Ryanair non ha fornito dettagli sul risultato finanziario di Lauda perche afferma che la divisione non supera le soglie quantitative per andare avanti.

E afferma che i suoi costi su Vienna - stanno anticipando - le altre Compagnie aeree del gruppo e il team di gestione sta mettendo in atto un piano di ristrutturazione.

Si discute con i sindacati sui risparmi del personale per garantire il futuro della base di Vienna.
La mancata concordanza di riduzioni dei costi SIGNIFICATIVE entro il 20 maggio, afferma Ryanair group, comporta la chiusura della base Lauda in Vienna il 30 maggio 2020
