EasyJet voted best low-fares airline

EasyJet has celebrated being named the best low-fares airline by business passengers for the tenth year in a row.

The airline picked up the accolade at the 2010 Business Traveller Magazine Awards ceremony, which was held in London.

Major carriers such as Air Berlin, bmibaby, Jet2 and Air Asia were all in the running to win the award, which was based on votes cast by readers from around the world.

Carolyn McCall, chief executive of easyJet, said: 'To be voted best low-fares airline by the world's travelling public for ten years in a row is a huge honour and testament to the hard work and dedication of our people.

This achievement demonstrates what a powerful product and brand easyJet is.

It was announced this month that the airline had reached a corporate travel deal with BT, further expanding its presence in the business market.

EasyJet carried 5m more corporate passengers in the last 12 months than in the previous year.
